Q: Can water be pumped through my blower unit?
A: No, clean dry air only
Q: My blower is leaking around the cover is this normal?
A: The blower units are not leak proof, leakage is normal, and doesn’t affect the flow rate of unit.
Q: What kind of oil do I need for my blower model?
A: None, these models are oilless, and do not require oil.
Q: Can I pump explosive gas through my blower?
A: No, none of Gast models are able to pump explosive gases.
Q: Where can I find a wiring diagram for my blower?
A: Wiring information is included in your owners manual, if the manual isn’t available you can go to www.gastmfg.com and choose service manuals, then choose the blower manual.
Q: What are the foam pieces inside my blower for?
A: They are there for sound reduction, they are not for filtration, a separate inlet filter should be used.
Q: Do I need a relief valve for my unit?
A: If your model is R4P and above you should have a relief valve installed on your unit.
Q: What will be the consequences if I don’t use a relief valve on my R7100A-3 blower?
A: The blower will overheat, the heat will cause thermal expansion causing internal parts to come in contact with each other which will score all the parts and most likely lock up the unit causing catastrophic failure of unit.
Q: Do you have motor starters for my blower?
A: Gast does not sell motor starters, it must be sourced separately.
Q: Can I rebuild my EXP blower?
A: The explosion proof blower must be sent to the factory for refurbishing, these units are sealed to a certain leak rate, and this must be done at the factory.
Q: How can I find my closest rebuild center?
A: go to www.gastmfg.com and choose service information, or call (269)-926-6171 EXT: 5404.
