Position Title: Application Engineer

Reports To: Application Engineering Manager

Location: M139 Facility

Department / Unit: Engineering

Basic Function:
Plans and executes completion of cost, information and prototype requests (CIP), to support Sales efforts to increase product sales and improve customer service. Works with accounting/marketing to develop cost estimates within 24 hours of receiving request. Works with other functional groups as required in efforts to complete open requests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyzes CIP requests for feasibility and determines most effective and timely method for completion. Acts as project manager in resolving open issues, tracking open items and closing out open CIPs within prescribe timeframe. Responsible for final decision on requests effecting product form, fit or function.
Directs efforts of Engineering Technician and Lab Techs as required.

Works with Accounting representative in estimating component costs, assembly rates and finished product pricing within prescribed timeframe. Initiates contact with other functional areas as required to achieve desired results.

Performs product evaluation/testing projects on a wide variety of compressors/vacuum pumps as needed. Verifies performance of products to meet customer requirements. Develops performance curves and works Advertising/Marketing/Sales to develop advertised performance information as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements or Equivalencies:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field Experience working with technical products and processes Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft products and project management tools Demonstrated excellent Customer Service Skills Demonstrated excellent communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of Project Cost Estimating
